Directors Parabella bake a stop motion extravaganza for Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off.
The world of stop motion is one defined by its demanding nature, requiring an abundance of patience and an unwavering attention to detail. Now add the intricacies of baking into the mix, and you have a recipe for one creatively burdensome feat! With determination and a pinch of whimsy, director duo Parabella whip together the preview for the UK’s beloved baking showdown.
Research and development for Channel 4’s trailer tapped into the expertise of professional bakers, giving Parabella a baking sheet with which to craft an assortment of confectionery characters, from biscuits to cakes and everything in between. The result of 500 eggs, 50kg of flour, and 28kg of sugar is a surreal and mesmerizing journey through a world where pastries sing, dance, and rise to life.
