Margherita has always loved drawing with pencil, and with this American Horror Story title sequence she finally got her chance. After extensive research into various sketching styles, she discovered the perfect approach to capture the unsettling horror of an episode set inside a psychiatric hospital.

Art Director Hazel Baird encouraged the team to embrace a nervous, jagged line—echoing the erratic pulse of an electrocardiogram. Margherita and her team preserved the raw, hand-crafted texture of pencil and grain throughout the animation and titles, maintaining a tactile sense of unease.

She describes it as one of the most enjoyable projects of her career.
