Margherita Premuroso

2D
Animation
Based in Milan, Italy and shaped by Italy’s long tradition of art and craftsmanship, Margherita Premuroso owns the concept of “Momentum” in every sense of the word.  A director with an entire back up art studio built into her van so she can keep creating even while traveling the world, an avid runner and cyclist, she thrives at a prolific pace that leaves us awestruck. Yet within that motion, her work is grounded in a rare stillness: the ability to capture the nuance of everyday life in the stroke of a brush or flick of a pencil.

‍

From directing title sequences for Netflix’s Black Rabbit and American Horror Story, where suspense is the guiding emotion, to creating her short film Ecce—crafted entirely by hand, pencil to paper—Margherita reveals a deep commitment to how tangible, layered craft leads to unique storytelling. Whether through experimental puppetry, 2D animation, or her daily sketch observations, she brings to the surface what’s often overlooked, transforming the ordinary into something worthy of our time. Her work moves not only forward, but deeper into feeling, observation, and the ever-unfolding rhythm of everyday life.
