In the 2016 election, a staggering 318,000 absentee ballots were rejected. Seeking to address this issue, luggage brand Away launched the "Travel the Vote" campaign, urging people to personally visit their registered voting locations. Directed by Hornet's Natalie Labarre and brought to life by the talented 2D team within a tight 3-week timeframe, the resulting :60-second film exudes style and a passion for democratic participation.
The film adopts an illustrative 2D style with vibrant colors and touches of stylized graphics and classic patriotic lettering. Natalie, relishing the challenge of a limited palette, used it as a graphic tool to enhance the playful, morphing transitions she envisioned for the project.
