A woman trapped in a daily cycle discovers the thin line between routine and rupture.
Ecce, Latin for ‘Behold,' tells the story of a woman trapped in a daily cycle of repetition—until something in that pattern finally breaks. But does it truly break, or is that disruption itself just another part of the routine?
The film was an intensely labor-intensive project: every frame was first shot on camera, then printed, hand-colored, rescanned, and cut out. An intricate process that demanded both patience and precision.
Drawing from Italy’s deep cultural tradition of masks, Ecce explores the tension between reality and fiction, identity and performance. Fascinated by these themes, Margherita saw this personal project as an opportunity to experiment and refine a handmade technique using pastels on paper, an experience that proved both challenging and deeply rewarding.
