A fresh and woolly take on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairytale Thumbelina.
In Andrea Love & Phoebe Wahl's heartwarming short film, Tulip is a tiny child born from a flower in an old woman’s garden. The old woman welcomes her into her home, but she’s worried about letting Tulip go outside. One night, Tulip decides to sneak out and explore, but things don’t go quite as planned.
Andrea and Phoebe wanted to create an adaptation of Thumbelina that allows Tulip to be free from the traditional love-story ending and able to find home in more places than one, while maintaining the original story’s themes of risk, adventure and magic.
The film has been screened at festivals around the world, including as an Official Selection for Annecy and LA Shorts.
