About
Léo Brunel
Léo Brunel is a director with a sharp instinct for staging and comic timing. His work blends precise construction with a taste for the absurd, grounding every situation in reality before letting it tip, subtly and surgically, into chaos.
A graduate of animation school, his film Hors-Piste won over 46 international awards, including the BAFTA Student Award for Best Animated Short, an Annie Award nomination and an Oscar shortlist. He was a member of the collective Mega Computer before going on to work with Illumination London, contributing to the Minions franchise and the feature film Migration. Since he worked as a freelance Director and is currently represented in France by longtime friends of Hornet, Eddy.
Whether in short films, advertising or longer formats, Léo brings the same obsession to his work: crafting controlled worlds where the smallest detail can become the spark that sets everything beautifully off balance.
