Pokemon have been spotted at McDonald’s in their global Happy Meal campaign.
To bring this adventure to life, we developed a custom mixed media approach that required a blend of our 2D, CG and VFX teams bringing their own special magic to every element.
The specific look took cues from the graphic language of anime, comic books, branded card games, and video games, with dynamic character designs by Hornet Director Renaud Lavency. Using the brands’ vibrant color palettes as a stylistic base, we added complexity and depth for an end result that is both bold and elevated.
A global campaign needed a global environment, and the design was influenced by architecture from around the world. Minimal but influential detail didn't situate any scene too specifically, and created a cohesive cityscape to soar though.
The combination of these elements built a bespoke style that is nostalgic yet fresh and completely unique to the brand collaboration.
